The regional president said that this is the first step of implementing a widespread use of natural gas. Once the new CNG station is running, it will allow reducing fuel costs by 20%, compared to those vehicles using conventional fuels.

Licona Licona also explained that the construction of this facility will be in charge of the company Grana y Montero, winner of the bid called by the Ministry of Energy and Mining, with a budget of US$ 1.500.000 and an execution term of three months. The station will be installed on a land granted by the Regional Government, located in Wanchaq district.

“Today these are no longer words, there is no demagoguery but only facts and realities, this is the first step for Cusco to start the process of strong adoption of CNG compressor and it was achieved only in seven months of administration,” said the official.
