Natural gas is the cleanest burning of the fossil fuels and reducing greenhouse gas emissions is a major factor behind the growth in natural gas for power generation and vehicle fuelling.
If spilt on either water or land LNG leaves no residue or slick and therefore requires no clean-up
Methane is a significantly more potent greenhouse gas than CO2 and can be released to atmosphere during the recovery of both coal and oil. Capturing this released methane and converting it to LNG is now an important step in the fight against global warming and of far greater environmental and economic benefit than leaving methane releases unchecked or flaring.
